ANBIIG Workshop on Early Diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Cancer at K Tan Trieu Hospital, Hanoi

From June 14 to June 15, 2024, K Tan Trieu Hospital in Hanoi, in collaboration with the Vietnam Federation for Digestive Endoscopy (VFDE) and the Asian Network for Bio-Image and Intervention in Gastroenterology (ANBIIG), successfully hosted the “ANBIIG Workshop on Early Diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Cancer.”

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

The event attracted leading gastrointestinal endoscopy experts from South Korea and Japan, including:

• Prof. Jeong-sik Byeon – Director of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea.
• Prof. Kenshi Yao – Head of Endoscopy, Fukuoka Chikushi University Hospital; Professor at the Clinical Research Center, Fukuoka Chikushi University, Japan.

Additionally, renowned Vietnamese gastrointestinal endoscopy specialists participated, such as:

• Dr. Nguyễn Thế Phương – Bach Mai Hospital.
• Dr. Thái Doãn Kỳ – 108 Military Central Hospital.
• Dr. Trần Đức Cảnh – K Tan Trieu Hospital.

Activities and Outcomes:

Over two days, experts shared experiences and demonstrated advanced endoscopic techniques for the early diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers, including esophageal, gastric, and colorectal cancers. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions using models and anatomical samples to enhance their endoscopy skills.

This workshop was a pivotal medical event, providing in-depth knowledge, updates on the latest technologies, and valuable insights from leading specialists in gastroenterology. It significantly enhanced the expertise of healthcare professionals, improving diagnostic and treatment outcomes for patients.
