The symposium on early-stage cancer, featuring a leading endoscopy expert from Japan, provided a valuable opportunity for doctors at K Hospital to learn and enhance their professional expertise.
Dr. Kenichiro Imai – Head of Endoscopy at Shizuoka Cancer Center, Japan – is one of the country’s leading experts in endoscopic techniques.

As part of the symposium, doctors were introduced to and engaged in lively discussions on challenging clinical cases in early-stage colorectal cancer diagnosis, as well as the latest advancements in diagnostic techniques for colorectal cancer.

The symposium was chaired by Dr. Bui Anh Tuyet, MD, PhD – Head of the Department of Endoscopy and Functional Exploration at K Hospital.
During the hands-on session, doctors observed procedures performed on the Olympus EVIS X1 system – a state-of-the-art 4K gastrointestinal endoscopy platform – featuring several outstanding technologies:
  • TXI (Texture and Color Enhancement Imaging): This smart light-enhancing filter improves visualization of subtle lesions by boosting brightness, enhancing color tones, and highlighting mucosal textures.

  • RDI (Red Dichromatic Imaging): By using narrow-band red, yellow, and green light, RDI enhances the visibility of blood vessels beneath the mucosal surface, allowing doctors to accurately identify bleeding points, even in areas with pooled blood or difficult visual conditions.

  • NBI (Narrow Band Imaging): NBI enhances contrast between healthy and abnormal tissue, significantly improving early cancer detection capabilities.
