[MEDLATEC] Workshop: Updates on diagnosis and treatment of early colon cancer using ESD method
Continuing its efforts to promote training activities and update professional knowledge within the endoscopy community, on April 5, 2025, Lenus Vietnam and Olympus once again joined forces with Medlatec Hospital to co-host the specialized workshop: “Updates on Diagnosis and Treatment of Early Colon Cancer using the ESD Method.”
The workshop featured the participation of leading national and international experts, including Dr. Kenichiro Imai – Head of Endoscopy Department at Shizuoka Cancer Center, Japan, one of Japan’s top specialists in gastrointestinal interventions; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Van Hong – Senior Specialist in Gastroenterology at MEDLATEC Healthcare System; and MSc. Dr. Nguyen The Phuong – from the Gastroenterology Center, Bach Mai Hospital.
Speaking at the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Van Hong shared that although colorectal cancer is one of the most common types and ranks fifth in cancer-related mortality, early detection significantly increases the chances of successful treatment. According to Dr. Van Hong, endoscopy remains a highly effective method for accurately detecting colon cancer, and “the use of magnifying endoscopy systems and chromoendoscopy can help detect even the smallest lesions that standard endoscopy might miss.”
