As interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy continues to evolve and plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases, the need for knowledge updates and experience exchange among international experts is becoming increasingly essential. In response to this demand, on October 11, the scientific workshop “Vietnam – Korea Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy” was held at the 108 Central Military Hospital as a prestigious academic forum, where leading experts from both countries shared the latest advancements and engaged in in-depth discussions on clinical practice in this field.

The workshop brought together numerous professors and specialists in Gastroenterology from Korea and Vietnam. Representing Korea were distinguished experts including Prof. Joo Yong Cho, Prof. PhD Huynsoo Kim, Prof. PhD Gwang Ho Baik, Prof. PhD Jae Young Jang, and Prof. PhD Tae Hoon Lee. Co-chairing and participating in the sessions were leading Vietnamese gastroenterology experts: Prof. PhD Mai Hong Bang – President of the Vietnam Gastroenterology Association; Assoc. Prof. PhD Thai Doan Ky – Director of the Institute for the Treatment of Digestive Diseases, 108 Central Military Hospital; Dr. Nguyen Lam Tung – Deputy Director of the Institute for the Treatment of Digestive Diseases, 108 Central Military Hospital, along with specialists in gastroenterology from across the country.

The scientific content of the workshop focused on updated topics such as endoscopic treatment of early-stage gastrointestinal cancers, management of ERCP complications, and the role of endoscopy in the treatment of chronic pancreatitis. In addition to thematic presentations, the program also featured live demonstrations of advanced techniques such as POEM, ESD, and ERCP, performed by Korean experts. These practical sessions provided high practical value, enabling Vietnamese physicians to observe, learn, and directly exchange with international specialists regarding procedures and technical skills in interventional endoscopy.

Accompanying the workshop as a sponsor, Lenus Vietnam continued to affirm its commitment to promoting the development of the endoscopy specialty in Vietnam. With the orientation of becoming a bridge between technology, expertise, and the medical community, Lenus not only supports advanced equipment and technology but also actively participates in academic activities, helping bring international knowledge closer to Vietnamese doctors.
