Prof. Dr. Truong Dinh Cam – Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, and Colonel, Dr. Tran Ha Hieu – Head of the Department of Gastroenterology, Military Hospital 175.
The event featured two speakers: Prof. Dr. Nam Quoc Nguyen – Head of Gastroenterology at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and Clinical Professor at the University of Adelaide Medical School, Australia; and Dr. Hoang Anh Dung – Gastroenterologist at Military Hospital 175.
In his opening speech, Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Truong Dinh Cam emphasized the significance of the workshop’s topic. According to him: “Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) are advanced techniques that are widely applied both globally and in Vietnam. Implementing these techniques enables doctors to obtain clear imaging, supports accurate diagnosis, and allows for effective interventional treatment, especially in complex biliary and pancreatic cases.”
Representing the sponsor, Mr. Hoang Chi Cong – Director of Lenus Vietnam – expressed confidence that: “This workshop will offer doctors an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and inspire new development ideas for the hospital in the future.” He also expressed hope for continued collaboration with Military Hospital 175 in future training and professional development initiatives.
In the morning theory session, the workshop focused on the implementation of ERCP and EUS at Military Hospital 175, as well as in-depth insights and shared experiences from Prof. Dr. Nam Nguyen on performing these techniques.
In the afternoon hands-on session, doctors from the hospital had the opportunity to practice under the professional guidance of Prof. Dr. Nam Nguyen, with support from a “special assistant” – the Olympus CV-190 endoscopy system.
