Hanoi Medical University Hospital Scientific Workshop: Standardized Colorectal Endoscopy – From Advanced Optical Diagnosis to Challenging ESD Procedures
To promote continuing medical education and the advancement of professional knowledge in gastrointestinal endoscopy, on October 8, Lenus Vietnam and Olympus supported the scientific workshop entitled “Standardized Colorectal Endoscopy: From Advanced Optical Diagnosis to Challenging ESD Procedures” as sponsors. The event took place at the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center of Hanoi Medical University Hospital. The program focused on updating clinical knowledge, sharing practical experience, and enhancing physicians’ skills in colorectal endoscopy.
The workshop was attended and chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Viet Hang, with presentations delivered by Dr. Kenichiro Imai from the Endoscopy Center, Shizuoka Cancer Center, Japan, and MSc. Dr. Phan Quoc Hung from the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center, Hanoi Medical University Hospital. Notably, Dr. Kenichiro Imai shared his practical experience in optical diagnosis and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), particularly in the management of complex lesions. His in-depth insights helped update approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal lesions while fostering professional exchange between Vietnamese and international physicians.
The workshop content was designed to focus on standardizing colorectal endoscopy practice, applying advanced optical diagnostic techniques, and updating knowledge of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), particularly for the management of complex lesions requiring advanced technical skills.
In addition to professional presentations and case discussions, the hands-on sessions included live endoscopy demonstrations on patients and endoscopic skills training using models under the guidance of Dr. Kenichiro Imai. These activities provided valuable learning opportunities, allowing physicians to observe procedural techniques, engage in direct discussions with the expert, and refine their skills through hands-on practice.
The workshop concluded after a productive day of learning and professional exchange, delivering practical value in both clinical expertise and training development. Olympus and Lenus Vietnam are proud to serve as a bridge between advanced endoscopic technologies and clinical practice at leading hospitals. Through this collaboration, advanced imaging solutions can be more closely integrated into clinical practice, supporting physicians in the early recognition of lesions and the performance of challenging ESD procedures.
