[National Hospital for Tropical Diseases] Workshop: Advances in Early Cancer Diagnosis and ESD Techniques
As part of a continued series of initiatives to promote training and enhance the professional capabilities of endoscopy specialists, Lenus Vietnam and Olympus are honored to sponsor the workshop “Advances in Early Cancer Diagnosis and ESD Techniques” at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The workshop was privileged to welcome leading experts, including Dr. Nguyen Trung Cap, MD, PhD – Vice Director of the hospital; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kinh – Vice President of the Vietnam Medical Association; Dr. Tran Thanh Ha, MD, PhD – Acting Director and Deputy Director of the Center for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Functional Diagnostics; Dr. Tran Viet Hung, MD, PhD – Deputy Director of the Center; along with renowned gastrointestinal endoscopy experts such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Duat (Vietnam France Hospital), Dr. Thai Doan Ky (108 Military Hospital), and Prof. Kouichi Nonaka (Tokyo Women’s Medical University Hospital, Japan).
A highlight of the program was the live presentation by Prof. Kouichi Nonaka on Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) in early cancer treatment. The professor provided a detailed step-by-step demonstration of the procedure, from lesion assessment, marking, and submucosal injection to meticulous layer-by-layer dissection. His live demonstration of diagnostic endoscopy in the stomach and colon, as well as the ESD procedure for removing a broad-based polyp, was performed on the advanced Olympus EVIS X1 CV-1500 endoscopy system.
